Donor: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM)

Goal: The main objective of the programme was to identify opportunities to boost visibility, create awareness and increase sales of products and services from the Georgian bacteriophages and natural pharmaceutical clusters online across the world. The objective of the project is to assess the digital demand for the products and services in each of the clusters in Georgia, the USA and the UK.

Activities: To research and develop written guidelines (with data collection assistance from the National E-commerce Expert) on the digital demand for the goods and services offered by businesses within the bacteriophages, natural pharmaceuticals, toys and jewellery clusters in Georgia.

This included:

  • Assessment of the digital demand for each cluster within Georgia and also the USA and UK as global examples

  • Identification of key online competitors for each cluster in Georgia ,the USA and UK

  • Research and proposal of digital sales and marketing channels best suited to each cluster to give the greatest likelihood to enhance the digital visibility of the businesses within each cluster

  • Preparation of high-level digital strategy and action points to increase digital visibility within Georgia and internationally.

Results: The guidelines were made available to all companies and entrepreneurs participating in the E-marketing Online Course, to give them a short cut to reliable research and a sector-specific digital action plan on how to boost their online presence to take their products and services to the world through digital channels.
