Strengthening Jordanian Export Capabilities Through E-commerce

Programme: The ‘Trade for Employment’ (T4E) project. This project’s aim is to support Jordanian companies short-term, as well as improving structural trade promotion capabilities within the country.

Focus: Trade promotion service providers, export promotion agencies and selected exporting SMEs

Goal: To develop new digital trade promotion services and improve existing ones, also strengthening providers of export services in the area of e-commerce.

The programme will enable trade service providers and export promotion agencies to support SME’s to increase their domestic and global sales and competitiveness through e-commerce.

Activities: Our work on this initiative includes:

  • Creating a new digital export service provision model for service providers

  • Conducting an e-commerce and digital marketing skills gap analysis and assessing the e-commerce training needs for service providers to be able to support SMEs

  • Designing a customized e-commerce training and train the trainer curriculum for service providers

  • Writing a final report with short and long-term recommendations to transform the support that SMEs receive from export promotion organisations in the area of international trade and selling online across borders.
